Blueprint is located at the Cooper River Marina, at 1010 Tidewater Road, North Charleston, SC. Your captain will meet you in the parking lot to escort you to the yacht.
The Cooper River Marina is accessible by car at 1010 Tidewater Road, North Charleston, SC. Parking is free! If you do not have a car, Uber, Lyft, or any other taxi service will be able to get you to the marina from anywhere in town.
Up to six guests are allowed on a charter, so bring your friends! Unfortunately, due to U.S. Coast Guard regulations, we cannot make any exceptions to this policy.
Our standard daytime and sunset charters are 2 hours and 30 minutes. If you would like, you can purchase additional time depending on availability.
You are welcome to bring any food you would like to eat under sail. Please remember that the boat will move, so plan accordingly in choosing what food to bring. We have an on board refrigerator and wastebasket for your use as well.
Yes! You are allowed to bring any drinks or food that you would like on board, with the exception of red wine, as it stains the decks if spilled. We have a refrigerator and wastebasket on board for your use.
We collect a $100 deposit to secure your booking. We cannot guarantee that a time you request won't get booked by someone else until we receive your deposit. We collect the remaining balance of your charter fee upon your arrival to the yacht. Payment information will be provided to you when you request your charter from us.
A tip for the captain and crew is not included in your charter fee. If you feel that your captain and crew provided you with an excellent experience, they always appreciate it when you recognize it with a tip, but it is by no means required.
The weather in Charleston is extremely variable, particularly in the summer. In the event of inclement weather, your captain will contact you as far in advance as the forecast allows, and no less than two hours before your scheduled charter. We are happy to offer a rescheduled charter if the weather does cause a cancellation.
Of course! Children are welcome aboard Blueprint. Please understand that children, even infants, do count as a passenger, are subject to the six passenger limitation.
Of course! Our captain is extremely passionate about sailing, and loves to give guests a turn at the helm! With over a decade's experience teaching sailing, he is more than happy to share all he knows with you.
Unfortunately, there is not enough time during our standard Daytime or Sunset Charters to anchor safely and swim. If you would like to swim during your sail, we are happy to arrange a customized charter for you and your group with extended time. Our captain knows all the local swimming holes and beaches and would be more than happy to show you!
Whatever you want! Blueprint is a big enough vessel that you are unlikely to get wet, so you do not need to worry about your clothing. However, please remember that it is often cooler on the water than on shore due to wind chill, especially in the fall, winter, and spring. A light jacket never hurts!
Yes, we have a full restroom on board (sailors call it a head), and you are more than welcome to use it if the need arises. It is kept clean and is well maintained.
We do not require that our guests wear life jackets while onboard, but we are happy to provide them if they make you feel more comfortable.
Children under 12, however, are required to wear life vests, as per U.S. Coast Guard regulations.
Probably not. Our standard Daytime and Sunset Charters stay on the relatively calm and protected waters of Charleston Harbor, where large waves are unusual. However, the boat will heel (lean over) under sail, and occasionally the harbor may get a little choppy, so you can expect to feel some movement. If you feel you need it, we would recommend Dramamine to reduce motion sickness.
Unfortunately, Blueprint is not accessible to guests who use wheelchairs or other mobility assistance devices. There are a number of steps between different areas on deck and in the cockpit that may be difficult for guests with limited mobility. Please reach out to us to discuss your specific situation, and we will make any reasonable accomodation.
